
🌟 As part of their academic program, the students of the MSc FPPE recently had the opportunity to visit Leiber GmbH, a leading company specializing in yeast-based products. The visit offered valuable insights into industrial processing techniques, particularly focusing on spray drying of yeast.
During the guided tour, the students explored Leiber’s state-of-the-art production facilities and gained first-hand knowledge of how spray drying is used to transform liquid yeast into high-quality, stable powder forms for various applications in the food and feed industries.
One of the highlights of the visit was a tasting session, where students sampled different yeast products and experienced the diversity of flavors and functionalities yeast can offer. From savory umami notes to nutritional enhancements, the range of applications sparked interesting discussions among the group.
